I. Purpose of
the Funding
These
guidelines shall stipulate matters required for Nanjing Forestry University
Academic Scholarship for International Students (hereinafter “NASIS”), which will
be awarded to outstanding international students so they may be able to focus
on their academic study and research, with the aim of promoting the enrolment
of international students.
II. Eligible Applicants
International
students are defined in this guideline as undergraduates, master degree
students, and doctoral degree students, but excluding students receiving full scholarships
such as APFNet Scholarship, TSP Scholarship and Jasmine Jiangsu Government Full
Scholarship.
III. Award
Criteria of Academic Scholarship
1. First-class
Scholarship
1)
Undergraduate students: Tuition and on-campus accommodation waiver for 2020-2021Academic
Year; living allowance 500 RMB/per month (for 10 months)
2)
Master students: Tuition and on-campus accommodation waiver for 2020-2021Academic
Year; living allowance 1000 RMB/per month (for 10 months)
3)
Doctoral students: Tuition and on-campus accommodation waiver for 2020-2021Academic
Year; living allowance 1500 RMB/per month (for 10 months)
2. Second-class
Scholarship
Tuition
Waiver for 2020-2021Academic Year
3. Third-class
Scholarship
A
bonus of 5,000 RMB per person
4. The Individual
Award of Cultural and Sports Activities and Social Work
A
bonus of 500 RMB per person
IV. The Quota of
the Academic Scholarship
The
Academic Scholarship holders are no more than 70% of the total number of
eligible international students, including 15% of the first-class, 25% of the
second-class and 30% of the third-class. The number of the Individual Award of
Cultural and Sports Activities and Social Work should be limited to 10%.
V. Rules for the
Evaluation of Academic Scholarships
1. Basic
conditions for application:
1)
To abide by Chinese laws and regulations and the rules and regulations of
school;
2)
To abide by social morality and public order, conduct correctly, respect
teachers and well with other students;
3)
To abide by the regulations of dormitory for international students (including
off-campus accommodation);
4)
Over one year of study in school (excluding the scope of flexible study), with
a correct attitude, hard work and excellent academic performance;
5)
To actively participate in various public welfare activities and social
practice activities organized by school and colleges;
6)
Outstanding performers in academic activities, sports activities, and other
aspects;
7)
To pass HSK written test Band 4 or oral test intermediate or above.
2. No one shall
be awarded in any of the following circumstances:
1)
If one or more of the subjects in the previous academic year were absent from
the examination or failed in the make-up examination;
2)
Postgraduate students who fail to complete the thesis proposal as planned;
3)
Those who submit false application documents;
4)
Those who leave school but retain their status;
5)
Those who leave school or miss classes for unhealthy reasons or seriously
violate classroom discipline;
6)
Those who violate school rules and regulations and are punished;
7)
Those who violate laws and regulations such as residence permit, if the
circumstances are serious;
8)
Those who fail to pay school fees on time.
VI. Application Procedure
The
Scholarship and the Grants for international students are assessed one time every
academic year. The applicant must submit the Application Form and supporting
documents to the College of International Education before September 15th2020. The validity period of these supporting materials is from September 15th2019 to September 14th2020. At the same time, they are also
required to provide the transcripts of the previous academic year, HSK
certificate, publications, award certificates and other relevant supporting
materials.
VII. Decisions
of Eligibility
The
Commission for Scholarships of University shall decide who should be the
holders this scholarship. The final evaluation results will be released on the
website of the College of International Education (http://iec.njfu.edu.cn/engnew/)
for one week, after the public announcement, the college will award certificates
and scholarships to the winners.
VIII. Rules of
Tuition Waiver for International Students
1.
The Tuition waiver for the " Jiangsu Government Partial Scholarship" holder
refers to the Implementation Measures (Amendment) of the "Jasmine Jiangsu
Government Scholarship" of Nanjing Forestry University.
2.
For the "Nanjing Municipal Government Scholarship" holder, the
tuition fee will be reduced appropriately. In principle, the tuition fee will
be reduced by 60%. Under special circumstances, the application will be
submitted by the students themselves. The College of International Education
will discuss and decide on the basis of specific conditions and submit it to
the University level for approval.
IX. Supplementary Provisions
1.
Students who fail to apply for scholarship and submit all the documents to
College of International Education before September 15th2020 are
deemed to be waived of the scholarship qualification.
2.
The present Rules have been implemented since April 2019. The former Rules for
the Implementation of Scholarship and Grants and Tuition Waiver for international
Students of Nanjing Forestry University (revised in 2014) have been abolished.
The right to interpret these Rules belongs to the College of International
Education of Nanjing
Forestry University.
