Cai Xueyu participating in Foreigner Chinese Speech Competition

“Foreigner Chinese Speech Competition in Nanjing division” held in technology hall in Nanjing University of Science and Technology on Jun 3^rd, 2016. 25 foreign students from 17 countries like Laos, Indonesia, Thailand, Russia, Kazakhstan, Morocco, Zambia, the United States, ect, took part in this competition. Our school student Cai Xueyu from Laos also participated in it and won the award of excellent.

 The competitors took “I and China”, “I and Chinese”, or “My Chinese Dream” as the theme for 3 minutes speech. Some competitors talked about the fate between Chinese and them, some shared stories with others in the process in learning Chinese to express their enthusiasm for learning Chinese and their devotion to Chinese culture. And some competitors described their happy life at school in Nanjing through a talent show by allegro and piano. This was the first time Cai Xueyu took part in the foreigner Chinese speech competition. Her speech topic was “Beautiful Nanjing Forest University, My Home” and she praised deeply and proudly about the scenery of Nanjing Forest University. Combined with the campus beautiful scenery, she also expressed the feeling of missing her hometown. Her Chinese pronunciation was standard, her feelings was sincere, so she was well received by the judges. When she sang the song Hetang Yuese, all the audiences applause rhythmed along with the beautiful melody. Finally, she won the award of excellent.

“Foreigner Chinese Speech Competition in Nanjing division” was sponsored by press office of people's government of Jiangsu province, education department of jiangsu province, foreign affairs office of people's government of jiangsu province, and was undertook by Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation, people's government press office in Nanjing municipal and Nanjing University of Science and Technology. The theme of the competition was “Happy Jiangsu, Cheerful Chinese”, and was composed by Northern Jiangsu division, Southern Jiangsu division and Nanjing division. Winners from each divisions will participate in the final competition on Jun 20^th in Nanjing.
