2024 Nanjing Forestry University Scholarship for Incoming Freshmen

In order to encourage excellent international students to study in Nanjing Forestry University, Nanjing Forestry University has established the Nanjing Forestry University Scholarship for Incoming Freshmen(NJFUS), This endeavor contributes to promoting the internationalization of the university higher education. The NJFUS is used to sponsor those international students who are currently applying for admission or pursuing degrees in NJFU.


 1 SUPPORTING CATEGORY

NJFUS supports Undergraduate students, Master’s students and PhD candidates.


2 SUPPORTING DURATION

The duration of the scholarship is no more than 1 academic year. Whether the students have the chance to apply for the academic scholarship in the next academic year is based on their annual academic achievements or comprehensive performance.

(1) Tuition wavier, but students   still must undertake the book fees and internship fees.

(2) If students live off campus,   the university will provide monthly accommodation subsidy: Master’s students:   CNY 700 per month; PhD candidates: CNY 1000 per month.

4CRITERIA & ELIGIBILITY

(1) Applicants should be non-Chinese citizens and be in good health.

(2) Applicants must have a good academic record.

(3) Education background and age limit:

-Applicants for undergraduate program must have senior high school diploma with good academic performance and between the ages of 18 and 28.
-Applicants for master’s degree programs must have a bachelor’s degree and be under the age of 35.

-Applicants for doctoral degree programs must have a master’s degree and be under the age of 40.
(4) Applicants should have a good command of English or Chinese and have ability to take course in English or Chinese.

(5) Applicants cannot be recipients of other scholarships offered by Chinese government, local governments or other organizations simultaneously.

(6) According to the relevant regulations of Chinese Ministry of Education, former residents of mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan who have emigrated to other countries and are applying as international students, must present valid passport or citizenship documents dating from before April 30, 2020 and proof of residence abroad for at least 2 years from April 30, 2020 to April 30 2024 (9 months of residence abroad per year may be considered as one year).

(7) According to the relevant regulations of Chinese Ministry of Education, applicants whose both or one of parents is a Chinese citizen and has settled abroad, having foreign nationality at birth, not having Chinese nationality, when applying as international students, must present valid passport or citizenship documents dating from before April 30, 2020, along with proof of residence broad for at least 2 years from April 30, 2020 to April 30, 2024 (9 months of residence abroad per year may be considered as one year).

 

5APPLICATION PROCEDURE

(1) Go on the website: https://njfu.17gz.org/ .

(2) Upload the photo and fill in the Application Form.

(3) Print the Application Form, sign it, and then mail it with notarized copies of the relevant documents to the College of International Education of Nanjing Forestry University (Mailing Address: Please find it in Contact); and send e-copies of relevant original documents to zhangy@njfu.com.cn.

 

6APPLICATION DOCUMENTS

The applicants must fill in and submit the following documents truly, correctly and completely:

(1) Two Recommendation Letters written in Chinese or English;

Applicants for the graduate programs must submit two recommendation letters signed by a professor or an associate professor.

(2) Notarized highest diploma;

Prospective diploma recipients must submit official document issued by your current school to prove your current student status or expected graduation date. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.

(3) Academic transcripts written in Chinese or English;

Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.

(4) A Study Plan or Research Proposal written in Chinese or English;

This should be a minimum of 800 words for undergraduate students, 1000 words for master’s students, and 2000 words for doctoral students.

(5) Copy of the passport photo page;

(6) Copy of HSK-4 certificate or above with the score of 180+(no less than 60 for each part, for Chinese-taught programs);

Copy of IELTS 6.0+ or TOEFL 80+ or English Medium Instruction (non-English speaking countries, for English-taught programs)

(7) A Bank Statement with the balance no less than the total amount of tuition, dormitory and living expenses at NJFU. It shall be in the name of applicant himself/herself, mother, father, or other guardians;

(8) Medical Report (Notarized English or Chinese translation). The physical examinations must cover all the items listed on the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete forms or forms without the signature of the attending physician, or the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicant are considered as invalid. Please carefully plan your physical examination schedule as the result is valid for only 6 months;

(9) Certificate of Non-criminal record (Notarized English or Chinese translation);

(10) Applicants(i)whose both or one of parents is a Chinese citizen and has settled abroad, having foreign nationality at birth, not having Chinese nationality, or (ii) who formerly were residents of mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan and have emigrated to other countries, should present: Valid passport or citizenship documents dating from before April 30, 2020; Birth certificate and nationality proof of both parents at the time of applicant’s birth, including proof of their permanent residency abroad; Proof of cancellation of Chinese Nationality (required for applicants(ii));Proof of residence abroad for at least 2 years from April 30, 2020 to April 30, 2024 (9 months of residence abroad per year may be considered as one year).

 

(11) Other supporting materials (if available, such as certificates of awards and training, etc.).

 

7APPLICATION DEADLINE

Before May 31st, 2024

 

8ADMISSION

(1) The Review Panel from Nanjing Forestry University will review the application package and decide the nominated candidates.

(2) The result will be released on our official website (https://ieceng.njfu.edu.cn/) before June 30th.

(3) The admission package, including the Admission Notice, the Visa Application Form for Studying in China (JW202) will be mailed to the enrolled students before July 31st.

 

9REGISTRATION

(1)Scholarship students must register within the set time with original Admission Notice.

2Scholarship students who are unable to register on time must obtain permission from the College of International Education of NJFU. Those who fail to register without the prior consent from NJFU will be considered as voluntarily giving up the scholarship and the scholarship will be automatically terminated. Cost generated by students’ early arrivals should be covered by students themselves. 

 

10ANNUAL ASSESSMENT

Nanjing Forestry University will make a yearly review on the scholarship students’ performances. If the scholarship students violate the law of China or regulations of NJFU, or the rules of NJFUS, the scholarship will be terminated.

 

11ACCOMMODATION

Double rooms are available for undergraduates: CNY 360 per month; Single rooms are available for Master’s students and PhD students: CNY 450 or 540 per month.

All the rooms are furnished and include public kitchen, individual bathroom, water heater, air-conditioner and internet access.
