1.What is CSCA?
China Scholastic Competency Assessment (CSCA) is a standardized test designed for international students who plan to pursue undergraduate degrees in China. Organized by China Scholastic Council (CSC) and jointly developed with experts from Chinese universities, CSCA assesses students’ language proficiency and academic readiness, helping them better prepare for undergraduate studies in China.
CSCA is also an important reference used by Chinese universities in their admission and scholarship evaluation processes from 2026.
2. Why CSCA?
CSCA provides a comprehensive evaluation of academic and language abilities, enabling students to better understand their strengths and prepare for successful study in China.

4.Test Dates & Schedule
(1) Test Dates: First Test: December 21, 2025
Five examination sessions in 2026: January, March, April, June, December
(2) Regional Sessions:
Asia-pacific Region: December, April, June
European, African and American Regions: January, March
(3) Exam Time (Beijing Time, UTC+8)
● Professional Chinese: 13:00-14:30
● Mathematics: 15:30-16:30
● Physics: 17:30-18:30
● Chemistry: 19:30-20:30
5.Test Format
Initially, CSCA will be conducted primarily in a remote, home-based online format, with onsite test centers (computer-based or paper-based) gradually established in major source countries and regions. In December 2025, the first onsite test centers will be launched in Vietnam and Thailand, marking the beginning of a hybrid testing model. Additional test centers in other countries and regions are currently under development.

(2) Paper-based: It is delivered in a traditional paper-and-pencil format. It is typically offered in regions where computer-based CSCA is unavailable. Please see:https://csca.cn/registration/notice/zbks

(1) Registration Process:
● Prepare the following items: Valid ID, Digital Photo, Payment Preparation
● Check the test dates, formats, and test centers
● Create your account, register online, book your test, make payment
(2) Test Fees:
● One subject: CNY 450
● Two or more subjects: CNY 700
7.Score Release & Submission
(1) Score Release:
● Online/Computer-based: within 7 working days
● Paper-based: within 14 working days
(2) Score Submission:
● During the application process, you may initially submit a screenshot of your CSCA registration confirmation
● Final scores must be submitted no later than May 31, 2026

9.Warmer Reminder
(1) It is recommended that students planning to enroll in Fall 2026 take the exam between December 2025 and April 2026 to ensure timely score submission.
