International Students Participating "Belt and Road" Youth Sports Exchange Week (Jiangsu)

    From December 2nd to 8th, The "Belt and Road" Youth Sports Exchange Week (Jiangsu) was successfully held in Nanjing under the guidance of the Office of "One Belt and One Road" Construction Group in Jiangsu Province, and it jointly sponsored by the Jiangsu Provincial Sports Bureau, Jiangsu Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, and Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, and undertaken by Jiangsu International Sports Exchange Center. The theme of this exchange week is "Using sports ignite passion, soaring of the dreams, carry forward the spirit of Silk Road to build a better tomorrow", this event attracted 209 international students from 62 countries and regions along the "Belt and Road" who have been working and studying in Nanjing. Lots of sports events and activities were carried out during the exchange week, including the 2021 "Belt and Road" International Men’s 3X3 Basketball Invitational Tournament, the "Belt and Road" Youth Outdoor Challenge, the Fifth "Belt and Road" International Youth Orienteering Training Camp and a series of youth sports and cultural exchange activities.

          Representatives of international students from our university attended the opening ceremony and participated in the 2021 "Belt and Road" International Youth Men’s 3X3 Basketball Invitational Tournament and the "Belt and Road" Youth Outdoor Challenge. Our university won the first place and second place in the baseball game and frisbee golf game respectively. And our school also won Best Team Award for Outdoor Challenge and achieved good results in the 2021 "Belt and Road" International Youth Men's 3X3 Basketball Invitational Tournament!

    On December 5th, the inspector of the Jiangsu Provincial Sports Bureau—Jinhua Fan and the vice chairman of the Jiangsu Sports Federation, and the heads of other departments such as the Jiangsu Provincial Development and Reform Commission, the Provincial Department of Education, and the Provincial Foreign Affairs Office attended the opening ceremony of the exchange week. The Consul General of Indonesia in Shanghai—Ning Dai sent a video speech, hoping to provide a platform for sports exhibitions and cultural education for international youth through this event, build a bridge of communication and cooperation, and further promote and strengthen the unity, friendship and cooperation between all parties.

    In this event, the international students of our university worked hard and cooperated, and fully carried sportsmanship. All students worked together and successfully completed the tasks of the activity.

    The activities of this exchange week enriched the cultural exchanges and sports spirit of the international students in the university. In the activities, the Chinese and foreign youth representatives not only communicate and learn from each other, displayed faster, higher and stronger sportsmanship, but also experienced the unique history of Jiangsu culture and local customs and it will further enhance the trust and friendship among the youth of the "Belt and Road" .
